Skin Tag Remover

skin tags, mole, Skin Tag Remover

Skin tags are tiny pieces of skin that appear on the surface of the body, and they are uncomfortable and ugly. They are small, soft, benign skin growth, often on a stalk. They are probably the single most common bump on adult skin. Skin tags are harmless but can be annoying. Usually they appear on the neck, groin folds, armpits, and under breasts. Almost everyone will develop a skin tag at some point in their lives.

How do you remove skin tags?

Officials Warn California schools of Flutes tainted with semen

State officials are investigating flutes that were given to some students in at least three Orange County school districts as part of a music program. Authorities say the instruments may have been tainted with semen. District officials sent emails to parents of students Friday afternoon, September 29, 2017 warning them about an ongoing investigation regarding flutes given to students including young elementary-school age students, given by a certain individual who is also being investigated.

The flutes were made of PVC plastic piping and a single wine cork and had an exterior that could be decorated, district officials said. The individual, who was not identified, is an independent contractor. The individual wasn’t an employee of the affected Orange County districts and worked at multiple schools districts in Southern California.

An Orange County parent went to her local police station to drop off a flute her daughter used that may be contaminated with a music instructor's bodily fluids.

"Sick to my stomach, couldn't sleep at night. My stomach is still turning. I tried to reach out to other parents who may have not heard about it," parent Gina said.

Three districts in Orange County have schools that are part of the investigation: Newport Mesa Unified School District, Capistrano Unified School District and Fountain Valley School District.

"I feel extremely violated for my daughter. Extremely violated," Gina said. "I couldn't explain it to her last night. I didn't know how. She knew me. She saw me getting sick to my stomach, but she didn't know exactly what was going on," Gina added.

In June, Gina's 11-year-old daughter brought home a flute from the Flutes Across the World program. Now, the mother is worried about her daughter's health.

"I mean it's just disgusting. We don't know if it's just bodily fluid. I mean should we have our kids tested?" she said.

The instructor's identity has not been released. The U.S. Postal Service is taking the lead in the investigation against him, but officials did not explain why the agency was in charge or how it was involved in the case. However, the unidentified man has been placed under arrest and is being questioned amid a larger sexual misconduct investigation.

The US Postal service, who were responsible for transporting the flutes, said that 'protecting children from crimes of sexual abuse and exploitation is a priority.'

Supersize Fastfood Products Fueling the Obesity Epidemic

Supersize me Fastfood, Fastfood Products, unhealthy fastfood, obesity

Consumers who were persuaded to supersize a meal or drink take on an extra 55% more calories on average and it has resulted to a huge yearly weight gain according to an experts. 78% of the participants in the survey said that the restaurants, fast food outlets and stores at least once a week asked them if they wanted to "go large." Those consumers who said yes get an extra 55% more calories on average by paying just a fraction more. Supersizing a meal or a coffee raises the cost by an average of 17%. Those calories add up to a weight gain of about 5lbs a year. People who are in the age range of 18-24 are the most likely to experience up-selling, consuming an extra 750 calories a week that could potentially lead them to gain 11lbs of extra weight in a year.

The report comes from the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH). Studies have shown that when people are presented with larger portion sizes, they consume more and increase their calorie intake. According to fastfood staff they were trained and get extra bonus if they up-sell. One cafe worker says that if they are asked for a latte, “I will reply with ‘large?’ The confidence of insinuating that a large is in fact what a typical customer orders often nudges the customer into getting the bigger and slightly more expensive drink.” If somebody asks for a cake, the response is: “Is that with cream or ice cream today?”

How to Treat Dry Eyes?

Dry Eyes, Dry Eyes treatment

Sometimes when you are staring too much into your computer monitor or smartphone your eyes become dry and really tired. If you have any symptoms of dry eye, you can try natural remedies, over-the-counter drops, or prescription treatments that will help you deal with it.

Dry eye syndrome, or dry eye disease, is a common condition that occurs when the eyes don't make enough tears, or the tears evaporate too quickly. This leads to the eyes drying out and becoming red, swollen and irritated. Dry eye syndrome is also known as keratoconjunctivitis sicca, or simply "dry eyes."

Some people are at higher risk of dry eye than others. Tears are really important for the eyes since it contain antibodies, lubricants, and nutrients that protect the eye. If dry eyes is untreated for too long it can cause damage to your eyes.

OTC eye drops - this is the first line of treatment for dry eye. They are called artificial tears and are available over-the-counter. It is really effective as long as it is applied consistently.

Wash your eyelids - "meibum" which is basically oil is a very important component of tears, and they are produced by meibomian glands found on the rim of eyes, near your lash line. Blocked meibomian glands can lead to dry eye. Washing your eyelids regularly and using a warm washcloth as a compress can help keep inflammation under control and restore the flow of oil to the eye.

Block your tear ducts - Tear ducts or puncta are found in the inner corners of your upper and lower eyelid. They drain tears away from the eye into the nose. Plugging the ducts with sterile lacrimal plugs or punctal plugs can keep both your own tears and artificial tears in the eye. It can be plug with a silicone that is reversible.

Wear therapeutic contact lenses - wearing regular contact lenses can cause dry eye specially if worn for a long period of time. Special contact lenses called scleral lenses or bandage lenses can fix the problem by protecting the surface of the eye and keeping moisture from seeping away.

Eat more food that are rich in omega-3 - Adding more omega-3 fatty acids to your diet may also help relieve dry eye. Dietary sources include salmon, sardines, tuna, walnuts, and flaxseed.

Prescription meds - eye drops that contain the anti-inflammatory compound cyclosporine (Restasis) needs prescription, there's also a a new type of dry eye treatment that is approved by the FDA it is called lifitegrast ophthalmic solution (Xiidra). There are also eye drops that contain corticosteroids, which also control inflammation.

Are you "Overfat"?

Rihanna fat

Overfat is a word that describe people who have a body fat level that is harmful to their health. An overweight person has a BMI (body mass index) between 25 to 29.9, while an "obese" individual has a BMI of 30 or above. Even if that individual has normal weight or is non-obese using traditional standards, those with high fat level can still be categorized as "Overfat."

health, fat, overfat

Being overfat will have some seriously negative consequences for a person's overall health since excess body fat is associated with cardiometabolic dysfunction, a clinical situation that can progressively worsen, potentially leading to various common disease risk factors, chronic diseases, increased morbidity and mortality, and reduced quality of life.

A recent study about "Overfat Adults and Children in Developed Countries" reveals that overfat people in the top 30 industrialized countries eclipse the all of the obese and overweight people in the world. In fact, they estimate that 90% of the men and 50% of the children in the US, New Zealand, Greece and Iceland are overfat. In the top overfat countries, researchers found 80% of the women were overfat, too.

The authors of the new study argue that using BMI will not account about 50% of the people who still have dangerous amounts of fat. Those are typically people who have the proverbial beer belly, but are otherwise in decent shape.

Author Paul Laursen, an adjunct professor and performance physiologist at the Sports Performance Research Institute in New Zealand said: "We shouldn't be as much worried about weight, what we should really be worried about is the fat part and where your fat is concentrated."

Abdominal overfat is the most unhealthful form of this condition, since the fat that is in your stomach area grows deep inside your body and it wraps around your vital organs. Your liver borrows this fat and turns it into cholesterol that can sneak into your arteries and start collecting there. When it collects, your arteries start to harden, and when they get hard, this can lead you to having a heart attack or stroke. This is why it is concerning that average waist circumference measures, generally indicative of abdominal overfat, have increased. Despite a leveling off appearance of being overweight and/or obese in some developed countries, the overfat pandemic continues to grow.

This deep layer of belly fat is also what makes your body insulin-resistant, which can lead you to having type 2 diabetes. It can also cause inflammation, which scientists are finding at the root of many chronic diseases and even cancer and Alzheimer's. Excess belly fat can also raise your glucose levels and decrease your muscle mass. You need good muscle mass to help keep good heart health.

How to Deal with Hair Loss

If you are experiencing excessive hair loss there may be an underlying reason, it can be poor diet, illness, excessive dieting, tension, work pressure, too much exposure to sun, frequent coloring of hair, or bad reaction from hair treatment chemicals

Here are some tips on how to deal with hair-fall:

- Eat protein rich food like fish, eggs, milk, and meat.
- Eat a balance diet with more green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits.
- Eat nuts that have high vitamin E content like walnuts, almonds, or hazelnuts daily.
- Apply vitamin E to your scalp. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps repair and build tissue. It helps reduce inflammation and repair damage to the follicles, and healthy follicles encourage hair growth.
- Eat plenty of fruits with antioxidants like strawberries, prunes, plums, oranges, blue berries, black berries, currants, and grapes. They help in lessening the negative effects of sun-rays on hair.
- Fruits rich in vitamin C like oranges, lemon and guava are good for health of hair.
- Avoid eating food that have high content of refined and processed carbohydrates like white bread and white rice.
- Food that contains whole wheat flour, pulses, curd and vegetables is good for over all health including hair.
- Drink plenty of water daily, at least 10-12 glasses.
- Engage in physical activity everyday to relieve stress and improve blood circulation.
- Take iron supplements, since many women and men have iron deficiency (anemia). The symptoms of iron deficiency include fatigue, shortness of breath, frequent infections, pica (craving non-food items such as chalk or ice), brittle nails and hair loss.
- Use some oil like almond, castor, olive or coconut oil once a week to massage the scalp thoroughly.
- Keep your hair clean by washing it often (twice a week) with mild shampoo.
- Use Henna as a hair conditioner but not too frequently since it can weaken the hair strand.
- Don’t wash hair with too hot water.
- Restore moisture through hot oil treatments
