Beech-Nut Recalls Baby Food After Pieces of Glass Found in Jar
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), announced on Tuesday April 14 the recall of about 1,920 lbs. of baby food products that are suspected to be contaminated with small pieces of glass. A consumer of the baby product complained after finding a small piece of glass in one of their products.
The particular product involve are 4-ounce glass jars of “Stage 2 Beech-Nut CLASSICS sweet potato & chicken” that were produced on December 12, 2014. The 4oz glass jar marked “DEC 2016” and have the product numbers “12395750815” up to “12395750821” on the cap. It also has the establishment number “P-68A” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
There are no other reports about injury or illness from consumption of these products. If you are concerned that your child have consume this product please contact a healthcare provider.
On Beech-Nut website they said that they issue the “voluntary recall” after receiving a single report of a small glass found in one of their product to ensure the safety of their consumer. If you have purchased this product you can return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund or exchange.
